CALL TO ACTION 1
The Postal Service has asked the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee to help gather critical volume data to support the agency’s operations planning through 2011. Accordingly, MTAC has asked member associations (including MFSA) to seek their members’ participation in an important survey. Please take the time to complete the on-line survey. The deadline has been extended to July 8. All information will be kept confidential.
CALL TO ACTION 2
The Postal Service is facing a historic financial crisis. Mail volumes have dropped reflecting the general deterioration of the U. S. economy. At the same time, the legal obligations imposed on the Postal Service remain. Among those legal obligations is the requirement that the USPS pre-fund its retiree medical program over a ten year period. This aggressive pre-funding schedule was imposed by the 2006 postal reform law. To learn more, click here.
